Do nothing sometimes
Do nothing sometimes
These days we all about our time utilization. We are all about checking our phones each time we got a free second. So many stuff there we can do: check what our friends are doing, eating and where they were traveling to, responding to emails, checking for updates, etc., etc., etc.…
I read and heard this before — sometimes your mind needs to be empty. Sometimes your mind just needs to be idle. You will notice the changes.
Staying at a bus station, sitting at a passenger seat in the taxi, having your coffee — stop and look around. Watch people, hear what they are talking about, maybe think about who they are, what brings them here. Watch yourself, ask what you are doing now and why. Just stop. Just observe things. Let your mind consume something different rather than information junk food.
I am not ideal and cannot do this all of the time. But when I do, I feel the difference. You can call it “mindfulness,” I probably will call it “being holistic.” I start to connect more dots, getting more ideas, being present and grateful for what I have.
Life happens not on your mobile phone only, and life is not about utilizing each free minute.
